SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – On Wednesday, June 26, the City of Southfield, MI will host a Family Fun and Safety Night. They will have many activities for all ages and local organizations will be on hand.
This free event will offer something for the entire family, including: karate, soccer, football, cheerleading and L.A. Fitness clinics, children’s fun area featuring inflatables (must wear socks), rock climbing wall, and health / safety info booths. The Southfield Police Department’s K-9 Division, Mobile Command Unit, General Purpose Vehicle, ATV, Special Entry Response Team, Crime Prevention, Community Policing, and Neighborhood Watch representatives will also be on hand in addition to tours of the Southfield Fire Department’s Fire Safety House. The Detroit Lions will provide the Lion’s football helmet bouncer and quarterback toss game, the American Heart Association will sponsor an interactive spin-to-win game, and Great Clips will provide free “crazy color” temporary hair spraying. Beaumont Hospital will also be on site with their virtual driving simulator to offer a hands-on experience that demonstrates how texting and driving or driving under the influence of alcohol can have deadly results.

The event will take place at the Southfield Municipal Complex on Evergreen Road. The event starts and 5:30pm and promises to be a fun time for all families attending from the Detroit area.
A limited number of bike helmets will be given away by the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians. As a cap to the evening, the Southfield Parks and Recreation Department will show Hotel Transylvania under the stars at 8:15pm.
